WAINWRIGHT chest of drawers

From an interpretation of Louis Sullivan’s “form (ever) follows function” quote, and a view of his Wainwright Building in St. Louis, USA, of 1891.

Five drawers gently increasing in depth, from top to bottom, as a subtle counter to the foreshortening effect.

One-off Piece.

Designed and made by Ian Cresswell.

Steamed beech and FSC certified African blackwood.

130cm high, 76cm wide, 45.5cm deep.
