SUM  cabinet

A cabinet for gathered things; to house, however seemingly diverse and insignificant in isolation, objects of personal interest and collective importance to the curator.

Echoing its intended use, the cabinet is the outcome of multiple influences and elements — aspects of antiquity and modernity — drawn together and personally connected. The panels were formed from one piece of quarter-sawn oak which was sliced, book-matched and diced into 210 sequential — and quite unique — parts before being reassembled.

One-off Piece.

Designed and made by Ian Cresswell.

Solid European oak throughout.

Height 105cm, Width 40cm, Depth 24.5cm.
